This According study examines the characteristics of shariah supervisory board (SSB), risk-taking and Islamic bank (IB) performance. The maqasid index determines performance an IB, assessment is more comprehensive. research data analysis uses dynamic panel regression estimation technique with generalised two-step moment method to predict relationship between governance, IBs financial from around world for 2014–2018, which comes scope database. empirical results found that has positive significance shariah, while SSB size, expertise cross membership have a significant negative Other variables, such as leverage, are proven shariah. originality this linking expanding sample include many countries, robustness checking based on Gulf Cooperation Council non-GCC member states. implications stakeholder theory because can accommodate various interests.
